Shakil Ismail, one of the top calligraphers of Pakistan will be exhibiting his work at
Artciti Gallery on the 9th of December, 2021. Not only does he specialize in
calligraphy, he is widely known for producing beautiful and detailed sculpture pieces
using metal, glass, gems and stones.

His current exhibition at Artciti will display calligraphy with metal, stone and glass
casting as well as metal and stone sculptures.

Ismail has had the privilege of exhibiting his work in nearly all well-known art
galleries across Pakistan. He has also displayed his work internationally.

The government of Pakistan has honored Shakil Ismail by displaying his work at the
Parliament House in Islamabad, at the Army house in Rawalpindi, at the Chief
Minister House, at the National Bank of Pakistan and many other government owned
facilities.

Throughout his career, Ismail has received many awards such as the following:

– First position in the Sindh Artists Exhibition.
– First position in the National Exhibition, Islamabad.
– First position in the group show held by the Arts Council.
– First prize, Sadaquain Award.
– Second prize in the exhibition held at the National Museum, Karachi.

Shakil Ismail believes in promoting glass casting amongst the younger generation and wants them to learn this particular mode of art.
